The Supreme Court took note of the current situation


 

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken notice of the current situation in the country. According to media reports, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial took note of the ongoing political situation in the country and a larger bench headed by the Chief Justice was constituted to look into the matter. In addition, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the rolling of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. The petition against the rolling of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly was filed in the Supreme Court by Advocate Shahbaz Khosa on behalf of Nayyar Bukhari. The matter should be fixed for hearing today.

It may be recalled that Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri rejected the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against Prime Minister Imran Khan as unconstitutional and adjourned the sitting of the National Assembly. Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri said in his ruling that no foreign power has the right to overthrow the government of Pakistan by conspiracy, therefore the no-confidence motion is against the constitution and law and against the rules and regulations. The no-confidence motion is therefore rejected.

Earlier, in a meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri, Federal Minister for Law Fawad Chaudhry said that a meeting is held on March 7 and a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister was presented a day later on March 8. When our ambassador is summoned to a meeting on March 7, which also includes officials from other countries, our ambassador is told that a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan is being filed. Until then, no one in Pakistan knew that the no-confidence motion was coming.
