On the day of the swearing in of the Prime Minister, the Army Chief was not feeling well

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar while giving a press briefing explained the reason for non-participation of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He said that the Army Chief was not in good spirits on the day of swearing in of the Prime Minister. He did not even come to the office on that day.

Responding to a question on the division in the army, the DG ISPR said that there was no division in the army. The Army Chief had a very good relationship with Imran Khan and still has a very good relationship today.

Regarding Imran Khan's rallies, he said that holding rallies and meetings is a part of democracy, the decision regarding next elections is to be taken by the government.

He further said that who is the army that gives NRO to anyone, the survival of Pakistan is only in democracy. We are repeatedly saying that army should not be dragged into politics. There are many reasons for this. On the night of April 9, there was no meeting between the Chief of Army Staff and the DG ISI. In response to a question, he said that the courts of Pakistan are independent and make decisions freely. If the courts are open till 12 o'clock at night, then they have their own case.

Giving a briefing on the campaign against the Pakistan Army on social media, he said that the people and political parties are requested not to drag the army into politics, we want to stay out of it. This effort has not been successful before and will not be successful now. It is better to leave the decision to the law. Propaganda is illegal, against the national interest. Unfounded misconduct is not acceptable, constructive criticism is appropriate.

When DG ISPR was asked about the declaration of the National Security Council regarding the secret letter, he said that there was no word of conspiracy in the declaration of the National Security Committee meeting and no one would be allowed to look down on Pakistan. ۔ ۔ The DG ISPR further said that the options were not provided by the Establishment, a message was received from the Prime Minister's Office after which 3 options were discussed.

We sat down with him and talked about 3 options. The DG ISPR added that caution should be exercised when talking about nuclear weapons. DG ISPR further said that Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was neither asking for extension nor taking it. The Army Chief is retiring on November 29 after completing his term. The United States did not ask Pakistan for military bases and if asked, the answer would have been the same as Imran Khan.

In response to another question, the DG ISPR said that the army was on board in every way during Imran Khan's visit to Russia. There are documents. External hands are also involved in the campaign. Survival of Pakistan is only in democracy. Strengthening democracy is everyone's duty. Army to give NRO to someone. Not in position, what happened in the last few days is part of the political process under the constitution and law.
