After the resignation of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Soori, they have started a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan by handing over the chairmanship of Panel of Chairman Ayaz Sadiq. Proceedings have begun. The bells are being rung for five minutes in the National Assembly, after which the members will come to the House and then the counting process will begin.

Inflation in Pakistan reaches 22-month high

Inflation in Pakistan has reached a 22-month high, the Federal Bureau of Statistics  FBS  said. Inflation rose to 12.3%. According to media reports, a statement issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics said that with the continuous rise in prices of petroleum products, essential commodities have become more expensive, pushing inflation to a 22-month high. According to the Bureau of Statistics, inflation was 8% in December 2020 and inflation was 8.63% in six months. Similarly, in the year 2021, the rate of inflation continued to rise, in November 2021, inflation increased to 11.55% and in December, the rate of inflation increased to 12.3%. FBR succeeds in setting new tax collection record

  The Federal Bureau of Revenue FBR has managed to set a new record of tax collections by collecting about Rs 4,000 billion during the first eight months of the current financial year as compared to the same period last year. More than Rs.1000 billion was collected. According to the details, the FBR collected record taxes of Rs 3996 billion in the first eight months of the financial year. According to the statement, during July-February 2021-22, 30% more taxes were collected than last year, while last year, during the 8 months, tax collections of 3074 billion were collected. According to the statement, tax refunds of Rs 197 billion were issued from July to January, while refunds of Rs 157 billion were issued during the same period last year.
