Imran Khan turns to Supreme Court for lifelong disqualification of deviant members


 

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has mobilized for the disqualification of dissident members of the Assembly. Imran Khan approached the Supreme Court for life disqualification of deviant members. A constitutional petition under Article 184 (3) was filed for life disqualification of the members. Election Commission, Speaker National Assembly, Law Secretary, Cabinet Secretary were made parties in the petition.

The petition states that the members who deviate from the party are not honest and trustworthy. The Supreme Court has declared the deviation in its decisions as invalid. In the petition, it was requested that the member who wants to leave the party should first resign from the Assembly membership, it should be declared that the disqualification of the deviant members will be for life.

Earlier, references against 20 deviant members of PTI were sent to the Election Commission. The disqualification reference against 20 deviant members has been sent to the Election Commission which will decide on it within 30 days, fulfilling this constitutional requirement.

These members are accused of violating the instructions of the party leadership and sitting on the opposition benches and even announcing to vote against the policies of the party. Raja Riaz Ahmed, Noor Alam Khan, Wajiha Qamar, Malik Nawab Sher Wasir, Ramesh Kumar, Afzal Dhandla, Ahmed Hussain Dehar, Rana Qasim Noon, Abdul Faghar Wattoo, Makhdoom Basit Bukhari. Amir Talal, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan, Nazhat Pathan, Syed Mubeen Ahmed, Amjad Farooq Khosa, Syed Samiul Hassan Gilani, Amir Liaquat Hussain, Jawariya Zafar, Asim Nazir and Chaudhry Farrukh Altaf. He did not vote for the opposition during the vote of confidence nor did he vote for Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister. ۔
