Election of Punjab Chief Minister, PML-N has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court to convene a meeting
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking convening of a meeting to elect a new Punjab Chief Minister. According to details, the petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on behalf of the opposition's Chief Ministerial candidate Hamza Shahbaz by lawyer Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, in which the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and IG Punjab were made parties.
The petition said that the appointment of Punjab Chief Minister was being delayed without any justification. It may be recalled that Chief Justice of Pakistan Omar Ata Bandial had directed to take the matter of political crisis in Punjab to the High Court. So the Advocate General Punjab told the court that all the MPAs in a private hotel made Hamza Shahbaz the Chief Minister last night. The former governor will take oath from Hamza Shahbaz in Bagh Jinnah today. Hamza Shahbaz has also called a meeting of bureaucrats today. The constitution is a trivial matter for them.
On this occasion, Chief Justice of Pakistan Omar Ata Bandial warned him not to speak, we do not want to get involved in the problems of Punjab, so we will not give any order regarding Punjab, take the matter of Punjab to the High Court. During the hearing, Justice Mazhar Alam said that the doors of the Punjab Assembly were sealed yesterday. Can the Assembly be sealed like this? The Chief Justice, in his remarks, said that he did not want to divert attention from the case of the National Assembly and at the same time removed Azam Nazir Tarar and Advocate General Punjab from the rostrum.
