Election of the Chief Minister, the date of the meeting of the Punjab Assembly has been changed again, the meeting has been reconvened today. Sources said that the date of the meeting of the Punjab Assembly has been changed once again after which the meeting has been reconvened at 7.30 pm today.

According to sources, the meeting has been convened by Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari in which the Chief Minister of Punjab will also be elected. It may be recalled that yesterday, Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari had approved to adjourn today's session of Punjab Assembly till April 16 and ordered to reconvene the session on April 16. According to sources, the reason for postponing today's meeting was that time was needed for repairs after a day of vandalism in the House by members.

Inflation in Pakistan reaches 22-month high

Inflation in Pakistan has reached a 22-month high, the Federal Bureau of Statistics  FBS  said. Inflation rose to 12.3%. According to media reports, a statement issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics said that with the continuous rise in prices of petroleum products, essential commodities have become more expensive, pushing inflation to a 22-month high. According to the Bureau of Statistics, inflation was 8% in December 2020 and inflation was 8.63% in six months. Similarly, in the year 2021, the rate of inflation continued to rise, in November 2021, inflation increased to 11.55% and in December, the rate of inflation increased to 12.3%. FBR succeeds in setting new tax collection record

  The Federal Bureau of Revenue FBR has managed to set a new record of tax collections by collecting about Rs 4,000 billion during the first eight months of the current financial year as compared to the same period last year. More than Rs.1000 billion was collected. According to the details, the FBR collected record taxes of Rs 3996 billion in the first eight months of the financial year. According to the statement, during July-February 2021-22, 30% more taxes were collected than last year, while last year, during the 8 months, tax collections of 3074 billion were collected. According to the statement, tax refunds of Rs 197 billion were issued from July to January, while refunds of Rs 157 billion were issued during the same period last year.
