Cabinet formation; The Prime Minister invited the leaders of PDM parties for Iftar today


 

The Prime Minister today summoned the leaders of PDM parties for Iftar on the issue of formation of federal cabinet. According to details, the Iftar dinner will be held by the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister's House where the Prime Minister will thank the leaders of the PDM parties for their support and the new cabinet will be finalized after consultation with allies. Names are expected to be announced tonight.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Peoples Party has proposed to give its share of ministries in the federal cabinet to Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan, Balochistan Awami Party and Balochistan National Party, senior journalist Naeem Ashraf Butt reported last night regarding the formation of the federal cabinet. Talks were held between PML-N and PPP leaders till 1 o'clock. Ayaz Sadiq, Sadar Rafiq and Rana Sanaullah of PML-N and Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervez and Naveed Qamar of PPP participated in the meeting.

Citing sources, it was said that PPP has proposed to give its share of ministries to MQM, BAP and BNP but the PML-N delegation insisted that PPP should join the federal cabinet. Sources also said that the name of Shahida Akhtar of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami has been considered for the post of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

There are also reports that Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM) has announced that it will not join the federal cabinet of Shahbaz Sharif government. In this regard, MQM Pakistan convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that other leaders The MQM has decided not to join the federal cabinet and has also informed Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of this decision. He said that MQM Pakistan was more interested in implementing the promises made by the allies for the welfare of Karachi and other parts of the province under which it was decided not to be a part of the federal cabinet.
