In this regard, it has been said that attending the meeting would be a violation of the code of conduct of the Election Commission.

It has been reported that the Election Commission has issued a new code of conduct after consultation with all political parties under which MPs are allowed to participate in the election campaign but public office holders are still barred from participating in the election campaign.
