Inflation rose to 16.49 per cent on account of rise in prices of 20 items


 

Inflation in the country has risen to 16.49 per cent due to increase in prices of 20 items. Prices remain stable. The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) has released weekly inflation data, which shows that the overall inflation rate in the country has risen to 16.49 per cent from 0.52 per cent in the previous week.

Prices of 20 essential commodities have been recorded in recent weeks, including bananas at Rs 4.63 per dozen, tea, rice, lentils, lentils, broiler chickens at Rs 24.45 per kg and onions at Rs 3.80 per kg. The price of 2.5 kg ghee increased by Rs 4.60 paise, beef by Rs 2.38 paise and mutton by 33 paise per kg.

Prices of 9 essential commodities have come down in recent weeks. These include tomatoes at Rs. 15-65 paise, garlic at Rs. 14-17 paise per kg, eggs at Rs. 69 paise per dozen, 20 kg bag of flour at Rs. 2-51 paise, sugar at 65 paise per kg, dal One rupee 72 paise per kg, dal mung 65 paise per kg has become cheaper.

According to the report, prices of 22 essential commodities stabilized in one week. Indicates a percentage increase. According to media reports, remittances increased by 7.6% annually during the first eight months of 2021-22 (July-February).

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released the latest remittance data which showed a 2% increase in February on a monthly basis, however, it was 2.7% in February this year as compared to the same period last year. The country received remittances of ارب 20.41 billion during the first eight months of the current financial year, an increase of 7.6% over 18 18.7 billion during the same period of the previous financial year. Pakistan is expected to receive about ً 30 billion this fiscal year.
