Gas prices increase by Rs 68 per mmbtu


 

Gas prices have been increased by Rs 68 per mmbt. According to the details, the average price of gas has been fixed at Rs 670.37 per MMBTU, which will impose a burden of Rs 227 billion on gas consumers. OGRA issues review decision of Sui Northern Gas Company Sui Northern Gas Company had demanded an increase of Rs 269 per MMBTU in gas prices. According to OGRA, the average price of gas for Sui Southern has been approved at Rs 829.48 per mmbt.

OGRA says that the increase in the average price of gas will take effect from July 1, 2021 after approval from the Ministry of Energy.

It may be recalled that two days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced a reduction of Rs 10 in petrol and diesel prices and a reduction of Rs 5 per unit in electricity. In his address to the nation on Monday night, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that petrol, diesel and electricity would not be made more expensive till the next budget. Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address said that the prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan are still low and if the government does not provide subsidy then the price of petrol in Pakistan will be up to Rs 220 per liter. "Today I am giving the good news to the nation that instead of raising prices further, our government has decided to reduce petrol and diesel prices by Rs 10 per liter," he said.
