Those responsible for Mian Channu incident have been arrested, Allama Tahir-ul-Ashrafi


 

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan Allama Tahir-ul-Ashrafi has said that Mian Channu condemns the incident and those responsible for the incident have been arrested. Will get He said that what the angry mob did was unforgivable, 62 persons including the accused involved in the incident have been arrested and the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab took immediate notice of the incident.


Allama Tahir-ul-Ashrafi said that the number of police was less and the number of angry people was more. If anyone commits a crime, then there are police and courts. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that any attempt by any individual or group to take the law into their own hands would not be tolerated. Details of action have been sought against those responsible and police personnel who failed to perform their duties.



It may be recalled that a man was stoned to death by a mob in a remote village in Khanewal district of Punjab for allegedly insulting the Holy Quran. Reacting to the incident, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that if schools, police stations and pulpits were not reformed in the society then be prepared for catastrophe. Attention is drawn to the fact that incidents like Sialkot and Mian Channu have been the result of decades of enforced education system.


It may be recalled that just two months before the recent incident of mob violence, a Sri Lankan manager was beaten to death by factory workers in Sialkot, which had garnered international attention.
