The government is considering raising the minimum wage to Rs 8,000. According to details, after the continuous rise in inflation, the government has started considering giving a big relief package to the people. According to private TV channel Samaa News, the government is considering using several other options, including raising the minimum wage.
The government is considering reimbursement, relief on medicine and raising the minimum wage. The government has proposed to increase the minimum wage from Rs 2,000 to Rs 8,000 to Rs 28,000. Apart from providing cheap petrol to the motorcyclists, medicines should also be provided to the citizens at discounted rates through health cards.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan will give final approval to the relief package for the people.
Yesterday, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen had also said in a statement that the Prime Minister would soon announce a relief package for the middle and poor class. Talking to private TV channel ARY News after the rise in prices of petroleum products, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that they will not impose full burden on the people, will increase the influx of lower middle class celery class, small cars and motorcycles. The Prime Minister will soon announce the program.
The Finance Minister further said that inflation will start declining in 6 to 8 months. On the other hand, according to the weekly inflation report released by the Bureau of Statistics, the overall rate of inflation in the country has further increased. In a week, inflation rose 0.22 per cent to 18.09 per cent, while for the lowest income group it rose to 19.40 per cent.
