Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI senator Faisal Wawda has challenged the decision of life imprisonment in the Supreme Court. According to details, an appeal filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI leader Faisal Wawda in the Supreme Court has requested the Supreme Court to quash the decision of the Election Commission and the Islamabad High Court. The appeal said that the Election Commission did not have the power to disqualify him for life. The Election Commission is not a competent court of law. Faisal Wawda in his appeal said that the decision of disqualification of the Election Commission should be declared null and void and he should be reinstated in the post of Senator. Faisal Wawda's appeal was filed in the Supreme Court by Advocate Wasim Sajjad.

It may be recalled that the Election Commission yesterday announced the election schedule for the vacant seat of Faisal Wawda in the Senate. According to the election schedule, polling will take place on March 9 in the Sindh Assembly building. Nominations can be submitted from February 17 to 19, the preliminary list of candidates will be released on February 21 and the final list of candidates will be released on March 3.

Polling will be held on March 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It may be recalled that on February 9, the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified former federal minister and PTI leader Faisal Wawda and ordered to return all salaries and benefits within two months. In its decision, the Election Commission said that it could approach the Supreme Court.
