No-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan, key member of opposition announces plan

For some time now, the noise of no-confidence motion has been heard in the ranks of the opposition, for which the opposition is also allegedly planning. In this regard, senior journalist and analyst Ansar Abbasi in a report published in the national newspaper The News said that the decision of the opposition to bring a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is not without reason because the main opposition leaders have high hopes that matters. The plan is being kept secret and only a few people know about it.

An informed source told The News that it is expected that 20 to 30 electables belonging to the ruling party will support the opposition while ongoing contacts with government allies including PML-Q and MQM are part of the plan.

It should come as no surprise that a prominent opposition figure will meet Jahangir Tareen in the coming days.

Apparently, contacts between the opposition and the ruling coalition have not yielded any results, but the source insists that the hopeful opposition leaders, including Shahbaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Asif Zardari, believe that the PML-Q and the MQM need it. We will support the opposition. The source said that "optimistic figures" in the opposition believe that a no-confidence motion would be launched against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the next few weeks.

The source who shared the information with this correspondent is one of the people who knows about the "plan" but is not sure whether the hopes given to the main opposition leaders are fulfilled or not. Not part of a bigger game. Ansar Abbasi said that the source said that some opposition leaders are so sure that the situation will come out as per their expectations, even one of them has suggested the name of Imran Khan's replacement.

The optimistic figures are neither disappointed nor discouraged by their recent talks with the PML-Q and the MQM. The report said his hope was that PTI allies would support the opposition at the right time. Once again, the situation looks very difficult, but optimistic figures expect PTI electables to support them and a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister will be tabled by the end of this month.

Recently, Asif Zardari, Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman became more active and met with each other as well as with PTI allies. What surprised everyone was the PDM's decision to launch a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister even when the opposition did not have the required number of members. The next few weeks are said to be crucial. If the situation does not change as planned, it is likely that the opposition's enthusiasm for ousting Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion may wane with the advent of March. The source said that if the 30 electables of PTI meet the expectations of the opposition, then these people can play an important role.
