MQM refuses to take more ministries

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI main coalition party MQM has refused to take more ministries. According to details, MQM Pakistan, the largest ally of the government, has made it clear to the government that it will not take any more ministries as it cannot bear the brunt of the government's credibility.

Informed sources told the national newspaper The News that the MQM had recently been offered more ministries but MQM Pakistan's response was that it was already carrying a heavy burden on the government and was facing criticism. The government had planned to expand the cabinet but the MQM bluntly refused.

Sources said the government had planned to add five more members to the federal cabinet.

It may be recalled that two days ago, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Shahbaz Gul had said in his statement that it has been decided to increase the number of federal and provincial cabinets. Not to please but to serve the people. Talking to media in Lahore, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had meetings with Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Secretary Punjab, IG Punjab, party members of different divisions, assembly members and officials in which various projects and Measures for the welfare of the people were reviewed to see what level they have reached.

He said that increasing the number of federal and provincial cabinets would increase the capacity of departments and solve the problems of the people.
