Kuwait will not show a film starring an Israeli actress in its country Gulf country bans screening of Israeli actress Gal Gadot's film 'Death on the Nile'
Kuwait has banned the screening of a new film by Israeli actress Gal Gadot in the country. Death on the Nile is a mysterious thriller film starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, based on Agatha Christie's novel of the same name, directed by Kenneth, according to international news websites. The film is slated to release on February 11 but will not hit the screens in Kuwait as it will not be released in Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information has reportedly made the decision following calls for a ban on the film, which was criticized on social media by Gail Gadot for praising and supporting the Israeli army in the wake of the 2014 Gaza war. "I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens, especially to all the boys and girls who have been targeted by Hamas," Gail Gadot wrote on Facebook with a picture of herself and her daughter praying. They are risking their lives to protect my country from the horrific acts being perpetrated, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children, will overcome us.
This is not the first time that a film starring Gal Gadot has been banned from screening because of his political stance, as Gal has openly expressed support for the Israeli army and spent two years in the army itself. In 2017, her blockbuster superhero film 'Wonder Woman' caused controversy in the Middle East, Wonder Woman was banned in Qatar and Lebanon, and its screening was stopped in Tunisia.
