Attempts to smuggle drugs from Karachi to the UK by hiding in sanitary pipes were foiled. 360 kg of drugs were seized.

 In Karachi, ANF Intelligence and Port Control Unit conducted a joint operation. A spokesman for the Anti-Narcotics Force said the container was seized and searched on a tip-off.

The 1,200 sanitary pipes in the container were found suspicious. During the search, 300 grams of drugs were recovered from each pipe. A total of 360 kg of drugs were recovered. According to the ANF spokesperson, the container was being sent to UK through a Karachi-based company. Teams have been formed to nab the main accused. The matter is being further investigated.

Inflation in Pakistan reaches 22-month high

Inflation in Pakistan has reached a 22-month high, the Federal Bureau of Statistics  FBS  said. Inflation rose to 12.3%. According to media reports, a statement issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics said that with the continuous rise in prices of petroleum products, essential commodities have become more expensive, pushing inflation to a 22-month high. FBR succeeds in setting new tax collection record

  The Federal Bureau of Revenue FBR has managed to set a new record of tax collections by collecting about Rs 4,000 billion during the first eight months of the current financial year as compared to the same period last year. More than Rs.1000 billion was collected. According to the details, the FBR collected record taxes of Rs 3996 billion in the first eight months of the financial year.
