Imran Khan will be the first Pakistani Prime Minister to visit Russia in 23 years. According to diplomatic sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Putin. And the final schedule of the tour is being worked out. During the visit, various issues including North-South Gas Pipeline will be discussed.

It may be recalled that former President Asif Ali Zardari had paid a bilateral visit to Russia in 2011. In addition, a statement was issued on the meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two world leaders met at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the first meeting between the two leaders since the Prime Minister's visit to China in October 2019. According to the statement, the two leaders reviewed all aspects of Pak-China bilateral cooperation. Discussing regional and global issues, Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the Chinese leadership on the successful hosting of the Olympic Winter Games and wished the Chinese people a happy Chinese Lunar New Year.

Improvements and investment in Pakistan's energy sector were discussed during these meetings. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Planning Minister Asad Umar and Trade Adviser were also present on the occasion. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had also met Chinese Prime Minister Informed about the measures taken by the government to protect Chinese citizens, projects and institutions.

During the meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang, the two leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations and discussed economic, trade, C-Pac, regional and global issues. According to the statement, the two sides reiterated their support for Pak-China strategic cooperation, issues of fundamental interest, while Prime Minister Imran Khan also congratulated his Chinese counterpart on hosting the Beijing Winter Olympics.
